LOSS

My hearing went to shits, a month ago. Now, there are alternating melodies and riffs that I can hear. I know the songs. Was Grade 9 fifty years ago? But listening to them also reminds me of my age.

Most of the old tunes aren’t syncopated like those from Steely Dan. But there are American. The slow ones have that early morning feel we have listening to Copland. It’s from the small town in all of us. The simplicity of a Sunday morning dawn, before the choir and organ announce the beginning of mass.
